Do you know Heidi Klum? I'm sure that you know her, because she is one of the most popular topmodels, coming from the Rheinland in western Germany.

Beside many TV advertisements she also has her own show on the German TV, which is called "Germany's Next Topmodel". Many young women try to win that contest because the winner will get different advertising contracts, be a member of a big model company... and starting a big career. It is said that more than 18.000 girls applied for getting this chance in the show.

Next week there will be the final show and we will see who becomes the next topmodel of Germany. Among the TV viewers it is very popular and they have high viewing figures. So I think this kind of show like "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" searching for the next singing talents, seem to be very trendsetting...

I think they have these shows in most Western countries nowadays, I know they have them here and in America, although I'm not a fan of them I saw an advert for the Heidi Klum show on German TV a while back, but I didn't know it was that popular.

yes, we have too many of those types of shows. The "reality" shows, etc. I can imagine that they are just as popular in Germany as they are here in the States. but, personally I can't see why. I prefer shows with real actors and real stories. The reality type shows are cheaper to produce though, because they don't have to pay writers.

It's great for the winners of these shows though. And all the people who appear on these shows, at least get their "15 minutes of fame."

Last week we finally found out who will be "Germany's Next Topmodel"...

The 17-year-old girl Jennifer won the show after such awful exercises like a photo-shooting in a elegant evening dress but a spider on her shoulder

I think one half of the show was only thrilling music and the always repeated question "Who will be Germany's Next Topmodel?"... Don't know who REALLY like such shows, but especially this one is extremely popular in Germany beside "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (to find a singer).
